Colorado State University College of Agricultural Sciences students, along with two dozen junior high-school students from Poudre School District, will clean up Creekside Park and Spring Creek Park along Spring Creek May 2.
The 150 volunteers will plant trees, pick up debris and repair damage from last summer’s flooding. Creekside Park is located at 1817 S. College Ave. south of Stuart Street and Spring Creek Park is at 2100 Mathews St.
The effort was initiated by Colorado State’s Agricultural Sciences Student Council with assistance from the city of Fort Collins parks and recreation department and Poudre School District. Volunteers will work from about 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The Colorado State students represent a variety of student clubs and organizations within the College of Agricultural Sciences. Participating groups include Agronomy Club, Agribusiness Association, Sigma Alpha, Alpha Zeta, Alpha Gamma Rho, Collegiate Cattlewomen, Block and Bridle, Collegiate Horsemen, Horticulture Club, MANRRS, SOLDAC and the Equestrian Team.
