The Celebration of Neighborhoods, Fort Collins’ biggest, free block party, returns this year from 6-10 p.m. Oct. 2 in the Lory Student Center Ballroom on the Colorado State University campus.

Now in its fifth year, the event offers an opportunity for neighbors across the city to enjoy good food and fun while creating and celebrating the sense of community that makes Fort Collins a special place, said Dan MacArthur, an event organizer.

This year’s celebration will resemble a gigantic block party. Participants can meet and greet neighbors along a simulated main street and enjoy street performers, sip soft drinks, sample tasty fare and check out neighborhood exhibits. An expanded array of exciting children’s activities also will be offered this year.

The celebration will conclude with a street dance from 8-10 p.m. A disc jockey will spin a wide variety of spirited tunes guaranteed to bring neighbors of all ages to their feet. The Celebration of Neighborhoods, sponsored by the city of Fort Collins Neighborhood Resources Office and Colorado State University, is free and open to all neighbors in the Fort Collins area.
