Ann Malen New Director of Career Center at Colorado State

Ann Malen was named director of the Career Center at Colorado State University on Sept. 24. In her new position, she will be responsible for human resource management, development, hiring and supervision of 20 full- and part-time professional staff and 30 student staff.

Prior to moving to Colorado State, Malen was associate director for marketing and employer relations at The University of Chicago Graduate School of Business in Chicago, Ill., since 1993. From 1988 to 1991, she was market research manager at FMC Corp., an agricultural chemical manufacturer, in Philadelphia, Pa. As vice president of marketing research for American Medical International, a Fortune 50 service company, Malen helped to establish the marketing research department.

Malen has a master’s degree in counseling from Loyola University of Chicago and a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign.

Malen co-authored "Influence of Gender on Job Search Coping Behavior" in the Journal of Employment Counseling. She is a member of the National Association of Colleges and Employers and the MBA Career Services Council.
