Student Talent Spotlighted at Colorado State University’s Student Fashion Show

Colorado State University students will have a chance to show off their original designs at the 27th annual student fashion show March 22 and 23.

Both shows will be held at 8 p.m. in the Lory Student Center Ballroom on campus. Tickets are $4 for students and $8 for nonstudents, and will be sold at the Lory Student Center Flea Market on March 19 and at the door both dates of show.

At the show, students will model about 140 garments created by 25 student designers. The garments are placed in categories including formal wear, cocktail, club wear, wearable art and casual wear.

"This year, two unique, wearable art fashions will start off the show," said Ruby Hageman, show coordinator and graduate student in the department of design, merchandising and consumer science. "We’ll also see more first-time designers than in the past few years."

A panel of professionals in the fashion industry have evaluated each garment based on construction, quality and design technique. At the show, awards will be given in each category as well as awards for best construction and best of show.
