Celebration of Neighborhoods Features Free Food and Entertainment (1999)

Colorado State University students, faculty, staff, and community members are invited to join in the Celebration of Neighborhoods, a citywide party for the Fort Collins community, from 6-9:30 p.m. Oct. 8 in the Lory Student Center Ballroom on campus.

The nine-piece Fort Collins band, "Altered Egos," will perform a mix of adult contemporary and music for all ages throughout the evening. Good food, fun and special activities for children will be available free to participants.

The annual event is aimed at strengthening neighborhoods and the Fort Collins community. The evening stresses the important role neighborhoods play in preserving a strong and healthy city. In addition to acknowledging the accomplishments of neighborhood groups in Fort Collins, the celebration also serves as a forum for community members to meet one another, exchange ideas, learn more about issues affecting neighborhoods and renew inspiration to make a difference in the community.

The evening will kick off at 6 p.m. as the ballroom becomes a lively street scene where neighbors are invited to stroll among the numerous booths and displays sponsored by neighborhood and community groups. Free food and refreshments will be followed by a presentation and group discussion. Following the presentation, "Altered Egos," will perform at 8 p.m. The Family Center of Fort Collins will provide an abundance of interactive activities for the younger crowd.
