Colorado State Joins with Pbs Business Channel and National Technological University

Colorado State University has joined the "PBS Business and Technology Network," an initiative of National Technological University and the PBS Business Channel, to bring the latest high tech training and professional education programs to northern Colorado. This partnership will make Colorado State even more effecive in meeting the professional development and training needs of employers and individuals in Northern Colorado.

"The Division of Educational Outreach is now able to downlink state-of-the-art training and professional education programs in advanced engineering, information technology and business. Previously, these programs were available only to Fortune 500 companies," said John Ebersole, associate provost for the Division of Educational Outreach."Colorado State recognizes the importance of making this knowledge and quality of training available to our local high tech employers."

Ebersole pointed out that these three institutions are well known for their responsiveness to the needs of business and for the quality of coursework offered in their distance education programs.

The "PBS Business and Technology Network" draws presenters and content from a variety of sources including several well-respected universities and from the private sector. Nearly 400 courses are scheduled through the end of the year, including:

– "Winning in Changing Markets: Mapping a Growth Plan,"

– "The Java Revolution: Language Tools and Environment" and

– "Digital Electronics for the Non-Specialist."

The programs will be delivered as short, half or full-day courses and are available to groups or individuals. All programs will be held in the Lifelong Learning Center at 1400 Remington St., in Fort Collins.

The Division of Educational Outreach provides a wide variety of traditional, distance and specialized programs to the general public and to organizations. The division has expanded its ability to design, customize and deliver training programs on or off-site, having recently served clients such as Hewlett-Packard, Agilent and the Thompson School District.
