Award-Winning Colorado State University Pianist Featured in Encore Performance Nov. 28

Award-wining pianist Janet Landreth, chairwoman of Keyboard Area Studies in the Department of Music, Theatre and Dance at Colorado State University, will present an encore performance of her concert in August at the Dei( International Music Festival in Mallorca, Spain.

The repeat performance begins at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 28 in the Music Building Concert Hall on campus. Tickets, available at the door, are $3 for students and $5 for all others. The concert will feature work by Frederic Chopin, Samuel Barber, Sergei Rachmaninov, Heitor Villa-Lobos and Franz Liszt.

Landreth’s performance in Spain in August was held at Son Marroig, the former royal residence of the Archduke Louis Salvador of Austria, located on top of the highest mountain on Mallorca. She also recently traveled to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where she spent several weeks at the Villa-Lobos Museum updating her extensive research on Villa-Lobos.

Landreth has performed as soloist with the Denver Symphony, Centennial Symphony, Jackson Symphony, Oklahoma Symphony and the Fort Collins Symphony, among others.
