President of Orange Glo to Share Entrepreneurial Success at Colorado State University April 12

The president and CEO of Orange Glo International Inc. will share his insight on becoming a successful entrepreneur at Colorado State University on April 12.

Joel Appel, marketing expert and entrepreneur, will speak from 4-6 p.m. in Room 119 Rockwell Hall. The Center for Entrepreneurial and Family Enterprises at Colorado State has designed the Great Entrepreneur Speaker Series to assist current and future business leaders by gathering information from and talking with successful entrepreneurs.

Appel earned an MBA from Northwestern’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management. He began his career with Quaker Oats Co. in Chicago, where he was responsible for marketing and brand management of products such as Aunt Jemima and Gatorade.

As president of Orange Glo, Appel has been responsible for the prosperity and brand recognition of his father’s secret formulas for furniture polish, cleaners and spot removers. His products command solid market share at many well-known mass merchants, grocery stores and warehouse clubs throughout the United States, Canada and England.

In 2000, Orange Glo ranked as the fourth-fastest growing private company in the United States, according to Inc. Magazine, a publication for entrepreneurship. Appel will be discussing the challenge of continuing his company’s dominance in the marketplace and how he plans to handle pressure from smaller competitors.

The presentation is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served. Participants will also have time to meet personally with Appel. For more information, call Anne McCarthy at (970) 491-6876.
