Colorado State University Invites Community to Join in Honoring Retiring Faculty and Administrative Professionals

Colorado State University is inviting the university and Fort Collins communities to a celebration honoring academic faculty and administrative professionals who are retiring during 2000-01.

The Academic Faculty and Administrative Professional Retirement Recognition Events on April 17 include a recognition ceremony, followed by an all-university reception and the President’s recognition dinner. Reservations are required for the recognition dinner.

Among the honorees are Jack Curfman, who received his undergraduate degree from Colorado State and remained at the university to teach for 50 years; and two University Distinguished Professors, Jack Cermak (civil engineering) and Marshall Fixman (chemistry). Curfman, Cermak and Fixman are among the 58 honorees who are being recognized for outstanding service to the university.

The event is a part of "Celebrate Colorado State!," a month-long series of events designed to recognize the exceptional achievements of the university and its students, faculty, staff and alumni. A schedule of events follows.

April 17

Recognition Ceremony:

4 p.m., North Ballroom – Lory Student Center.

Admission is complimentary.

All-University Reception:

4:45 p.m., Cherokee Park Room and University Club – Lory Student Center.

Admission is complimentary.

President’s Recognition Dinner:

5:15 p.m., West Ballroom – Lory Student Center.

Admission: $14.75.
