Holistic Health Fair Offers Alternatives to Conventional Medical Practices

People interested in alternative health care in the Fort Collins area will be able to find information at the Holistic Health Fair from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Oct. 20 at the University Village Community Center, 1600 W. Plum St.

The fourth annual event, hosted by Colorado State University’s International House and Lory Apartments, is free and open to the public. It will highlight a variety of health-care alternatives from around the world and will give students and community members insight into different methods for improving general health as well as treating specific ailments.

The Vitamin Cottage will be on hand with free vitamin and cosmetics samples; Energy Medicine Arts will offer information on massage, spirituality, aromatherapy, the immune system, relaxation and martial arts; and Hearths Ease Healing Arts will feature a display on structural realignment and information on family therapy and abuse counseling.

Other displays will cover a diverse array of alternative health topics, including homeopathic animal communication, a holistic health newspaper, herbs and flower essences and Reiki, which is the art of energy healing and movement of energy through the body.

Free food and drinks also will be available. For more information about the Holistic Health Fair, contact Cynde Rothenburger at (970) 491-0873.
