Visitors Can Enjoy Tours, Refreshments and Gift Shopping During Rocky Mountain Raptor Center’s Holiday Open House (2001)

The Rocky Mountain Raptor Program will host a holiday open house from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Dec. 16. Families can enjoy refreshments, take a tour of the Rocky Mountain Raptor Center, meet nonreleasable (permanently injured) birds available for adoption through the Adopt-a-Raptor Program and learn more about the center’s work to rehabilitate and protect injured birds of prey.

Many of nature’s most spectacular birds will be on display, including a bald eagle, a golden eagle, a great horned owl and a peregrine falcon. Visitors can talk to volunteers and learn about the volunteer program, construction projects, environmental education presentations and public outreach exhibits.

The Raptor Gift Shop will have numerous holiday gift items for purchase including special holiday cards featuring color portrait shots of the Raptor Programs’ educational ambassador birds, special holiday cards and ornaments, unique jewelry and educational materials.

The Rocky Mountain Raptor Program is located just behind the James L. Voss Veterinary Teaching Hospital at 300 West Drake Road in Fort Collins. For more information, call (970) 491-0398.
