Chair of Accounting Industry’s Auditing Standards Board to Speak at Colorado State University March 5

The chairman of the accounting industry’s Auditing Standards Board and one of the nation’s leaders in the accounting profession will launch the distinguished speaker series for the Center for Quality Financial Reporting at Colorado State University.

James Gerson, partner in PricewaterhouseCoopers where he serves as the firm’s National Assurance Policy and Communications Leader, will speak during a reception that will run from 5-7 p.m. March 5 at the University Club in the Lory Student Center on campus. He will be discussing the accounting industry during a time of challenge and change in the profession.

Gerson served as a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants Securities and Exchange Practice Section Peer Review Committee, responsible for setting the profession’s peer review standards.

Lynn Turner, former chief accountant for the Securities and Exchange Commission, serves as the director of the Center for Quality Financial Reporting. The center is part of the College of Business at Colorado State.
