Distinguished Lecture Series Launched at Colorado State

Internationally recognized leaders will speak in Fort Collins twice annually as part of the Monfort Lecture Series announced today in conjunction with a $5 million gift from the prominent Colorado family to Colorado State University.

The portion of the gift dedicated to establishing the lecture series will provide up to $200,000 annually for guest speakers for the next five years. The Monfort Lecture Series is expected to feature two distinguished speakers each year, selected for their stature internationally.

In conjunction with the lectures, the university will create a series of special seminars and other related activities. The series is designed for students, faculty, alumni and members of the community who would benefit from the knowledge, wisdom and creative abilities of distinguished leaders in their fields.

The Monfort gift will provide for travel costs, fees, honoraria and production costs for the distinguished Monfort Lecturers.

The Monfort Family Foundation gift also will fund 10 new named professor positions, establish 30 new full-ride scholarships and add a faculty-in-residence program.
