Colorado State University Rams Clinch Mountain West Conference Title, Bound for the 2002 Liberty Bowl Dec. 31

Colorado State University’s football team won its sixth conference title in 10 seasons under head coach Sonny Lubick with a 22-14 win over the University of New Mexico Nov. 23 before a sellout crowd at Hughes Stadium. The win assures the Rams of a trip to the Liberty Bowl against the Conference USA champion on Dec. 31 in Memphis, Tenn. Kickoff time for the bowl game is 1:30 p.m. MT/2:30 p.m. CT.

Colorado State continues to draw national attention for the Rams’ record-setting 2002 football season. For the first time in school history, Colorado State is in the top 15 of the Bowl Championship Series national rankings.
