Author Visits Colorado State University to Discuss Book Chronicling the Holocaust Survival of One Family

San Diego journalist Suzan Hagstrom will discuss her book, "Sara’s Children: The Destruction of Chmielnik," at Colorado State University April 2.

The talk will be held at noon in Room 228 of the Lory Student Center as part of Colorado State’s Women at Noon Program and Holocaust Awareness Week. Hagstrom’s nonfiction book records the extraordinary survival of five siblings, Polish Jews, in Nazi Germany’s death camps. The Garfinkel siblings rebuilt their lives in the United States after World War II.

Hagstrom researched and wrote "Sara’s Children" in her spare time while working as a financial news reporter for "The Orlando Sentinel" in Florida. A Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of California at Berkeley, Hagstrom now is a freelance writer in San Diego.
