Advisory Committee to Meet Friday, Send Recommended Applicants to Board of Governors for Consideration

The Presidential Search Advisory Committee will meet Friday (April 3) to discuss the applicants the committee will recommend to the university’s governing board to become the next president of Colorado State University and chancellor of the university system.

The committee will, following the meeting, send its recommendations to the Board of Governors of the university system, which will make the final selection. The board will consider these recommendations, along with other input, and will announce any finalists for the position.

The board, which is charged with selecting the next university and system leader, will select the finalists for the position, although the board has not determined the number of finalists. Once the process of selecting finalists is completed, the Board will announce a campus visit schedule.

The committee has been reviewing applications, and formed small sub-groups to conduct preliminary interviews and to discuss candidate qualifications. The full committee will now meet Friday to review this information and to forward its recommendations to the board.

"We continue to be impressed with the pool, and look forward to the board making a decision in the coming weeks," said Donald Hamstra, vice president of the board and chairman of the search advisory committee. "The Board of Governors set a timeline to have a leader in place by the summer. The depth and quality of this pool leads me to believe that we will be able to meet the timeline and fill the position with a top-quality individual."
