Richard Notebaert, Chairman and Ceo of Qwest, to be Featured at Colorado State’s Denver Executive Luncheon

Richard Notebaert, chairman and chief executive officer of Qwest Communications International, will be the featured keynote speaker at Colorado State University’s second annual Denver Executive Luncheon on May 28.

The event will begin at 11:30 a.m. at the Seawall Grand Ballroom in the Denver Performing Arts Complex at 1050 13th St. Lunch will be served at noon and the keynote address will conclude at 1:15 p.m. Notebaert will discuss "Pursuing Common Objectives: How Business Contributes to the Greater Community."

Notebaert was named chairman and CEO of Qwest Communications in June of 2002. Qwest Communications is a global leader in data, voice and image communications for businesses, consumers and all levels of government.

Notebaert served as president and CEO of Tellabs from August 2000 until he accepted his current position at Qwest. He served 30 years with Ameritech Corporation in a variety of positions including chairman, CEO and president.

Notebaert currently serves on the board of directors for Aon Corporation, Cardinal Health, Denver Center for Performing Arts and Qwest Communications International Inc. In August of 2002, he was appointed chairman of the Network Reliability and Interoperability Council, which develops recommendations for the FCC and private industry to assure the reliability, security and public access to telecommunications networks and the Internet.

Colorado State initiated the annual luncheon in November 2001 to bring together corporate leaders, alumni and those who have an interest in the university and current trends in business.
