Colorado State University and Fort Collins Community 2003 Homecoming Events Announced

Community members of all ages are encouraged to attend the 2003 Homecoming Celebration hosted by Colorado State University, the City of Fort Collins and Poudre School District.

Homecoming festivities will be in full-swing Oct. 4 and will incorporate this year’s theme "The Year of the Ram." A wide variety of community and all-alumni events will be highlighted by a Community Parade, 5K race and Rams football.

The Homecoming Celebration will begin with a 5K race at 8 a.m. on the campus Oval. Registration for the race is $17 prior to race day. Race day registration is $25. Registration forms can be found at www.cahs.colostate.edu/hes. For more information

In addition, a pancake breakfast hosted by the Alumni Center will take place from 7-9 a.m. on the Alumni Center lawn at the intersection of Shields and Laurel streets.

The community homecoming parade will begin at 9 a.m. at the intersection of Mountain Avenue and Howes Street. The parade will turn west on Laurel Street, then south on Shields Street, finally east on Plum Street, ending at the Colorado State University campus. Parade entry forms are due Sept. 22. For football fans, the Colorado State Rams will host the Fresno State Bulldogs.  The game will be played at Sonny Lubick Field at Hughes Stadium on Oct. 4. Game time is to be announced.

All high school homecoming football games will be played at 7 p.m. on French Field at Rocky Mountain High School. Games include Fort Collins High School vs. Horizon High School on Sept. 19, Rocky Mountain High School vs. Thornton High School on Sept. 26, and Poudre High School vs. Legacy High School on Oct. 10.
