Colorado State Invites Students, Community to Learn About Water Resources and Environmental Engineering Graduate Programs

College students, engineering professionals and anyone interested can learn about graduate education opportunities in all areas of water resources and environmental engineering at Colorado State University’s Civil Engineering Graduate Visit Day March 12 from 8:15 a.m.-6:30 p.m. in the Lory Student Center. The informative event is free and open to the public; however, registration is required. Participants also will have the opportunity to attend sessions of the 24th Annual Hydrology Days at Colorado State at no charge.

Graduate Visit Day attendees will have opportunities to explore graduate study programs and careers in the following civil engineering areas.

– Hydrology,

– Groundwater,

– Irrigation and Drainage,

– Stream Restoration and River Mechanics,

– Hydraulics,

– Fluid Mechanics,

– Environmental Engineering and Geoenvironmental Engineering, and

– Water Resources Planning and Management.

Participants will attend presentations regarding study areas, tour the Engineering Research Center and other research laboratories, discuss engineering graduate programs with faculty and current graduate students and learn about graduate study life at Colorado State. Student advisers will be on hand to answer any questions. Information will be provided about graduate research assistantships, or GRAs; graduate teaching assistantships, or GTAs; funding; and financial aid. Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be provided for attendees.

The annual Hydrology Days conference, March 10-12, welcomes experts, water managers and geophysical scientists from across the United State and throughout the world to address critical water issues. The yearly symposium provides a unique, multi-disciplinary forum for researchers and professionals in hydrologic science and closely related disciplines to exchange ideas about all aspects of water.
