Colorado State University to Host Disability Awareness Days

Colorado State University’s Office of Resources for Disabled Students will present Disability Awareness Days, a week of on-campus events, March 30-April 1. This year’s theme, "Expand Opportunities, Elevate Abilities," focuses on the importance of providing support and resources needed for individuals with disabilities to be participating members of our respective communities.

Events include workshops, lectures, video presentations and a keynote address by Christy Smith, "Survivor" TV show’s first deaf castaway.

The goal of Disability Awareness Days is to heighten awareness issues related to disability and to promote an appreciation of individuals with disabilities.

Following is a schedule of events for the week of Disabilities Awareness Days. All events are free and open to the public with the exception of the film, which costs $3 for students and $4 for non-students, and the "Dining with a Disability," which is free to students with meal plans; for all others, the cost is $5.50.
