Media Advisory/Photo Opportunity: Colorado State University Students Host Day of Learning for Local 3rd Graders

WHAT:     Colorado State University College of Agricultural Sciences students host area 3rd grade students at ARDEC on Wednesday, Sept. 22, to educate students about agriculture in their daily lives. The event is based on state classroom educational curriculum standards for students in the 3rd grade. About 1,000 students from the Fort Collins area are expected to attend the event.

WHERE:      9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Sept. 22 at ARDEC (Agricultural Research, Development and Education Center), Colorado State University. To reach ARDEC, travel north on I-25 to the Mountain Vista exit, number 271. Travel north on the east frontage road 3.8 miles.

DETAILS:     Ag Adventures is an annual event for local students to learn about animals and crops. Students will learn about agronomy, soil, grass, erosion, sheep shearing, milk cows, safety around farms and large equipment, and other agricultural-related information. The day is presented by various clubs in the College of Agricultural Sciences along with freshman in the college.
