address at Colorado State University

WHAT:     A media question and answer period has been slated with Edward James Olmos during the afternoon of Tuesday, Sept. 28, before Olmos’ evening keynote address about diversity at the university’s annual Diversity Summit. At Mr. Olmos’ speaker’s bureau request, this question and answer session has been scheduled and no individual interviews will be granted. WHEN/     

WHERE:      Olmos will answer questions from the media from 2:30 to 2:50 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 28th at the Cherokee Park Room, Lory Student Center. Olmos, an award winning actor, is well known for his community activism on behalf of diversity, will present "We’re All In the Same Gang," at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 28 in the Main Ballroom, Lory Student Center, Colorado State University. A public question and answer session will follow the keynote address.

DETAILS:     Olmos is well-known for his work in Hollywood, which has earned him an Emmy, two Golden Globes and the L.A. Drama Circle Award. He has been nominated for an Oscar, a Tony and three additional Emmy awards. He is well known for his role as Jaime Escalante in Stand and Deliver and for his Emmy-award-winning role as Lieutenant Martin Castillo in the popular 1980s television series Miami Vice. Olmos is also celebrated for his diversity in Hollywood, being a multi-talented actor, producer, director and community activist. In addition to his work on films and television, he’s well known for reaching out to the public to encourage all races to work together. He was one of the first public figures to take to the streets to help restore Los Angeles the city’s neighborhoods following the 1992 riots.
