Colorado State University and Poudre Fire Authority Host Annual Chili Challenge

WHAT:     Colorado State Housing and Dining Services and the Poudre Fire Authority host the annual Chili Challenge to promote Fire Prevention Week. Students participating in the five-day challenge will attempt to eat an 8 oz. bowl of chili, which gets progressively hotter each day.

WHEN/WHERE:  From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Oct. 4-8 at Corbett Dining Center, located on the north end of campus near the Student Recreation Center.

DETAILS:  The Poudre Fire Authority will be on hand to give out prizes and extinguish any flames. A fire engine also will be on site for photo opportunities with fire fighters. Students have to finish the challenge with a Habanero pepper to be victorious on the final day. Contest judges include Mayor Ray Martinez, Colorado State University Athletic Director Mark Driscoll and deans, directors and department heads from around the campus.
