Alcohol Task Force Invites Public to Take Part in Online Survey About Future of Alcohol at Hughes

The Colorado State University Alcohol Task Force subcommittee on the use of alcohol at Hughes Stadium invites the community to participate in a new online survey created to gather feedback from students, parents and community members regarding the future of alcohol at Hughes.

The short survey, available on the Web at http://www.studentvoice.com/colostate/etoh.html, includes questions about the future sale of beer inside the stadium as well as allowing alcohol at tailgates outside the stadium before games.

Individual responses are kept confidential and will be combined with all other data for statistical analysis. The results of the survey will be used to assist the Alcohol Task Force in understanding community perspectives regarding alcohol at Hughes Stadium.

The review by the subcommittee on the use of alcohol at Hughes Stadium will include use within the stadium as well as within the parking areas and surrounding areas of the stadium before and after scheduled events. It will explore practices and policies of other athletic venues regarding alcohol use. The subcommittee will make appropriate recommendations regarding the future distribution, sales and use of alcoholic beverages, as well as alternatives in policing and enforcement that will foster a positive, safe and enjoyable environment for participating in collegiate sporting activities.

More information about the Alcohol Task Force, its charge and its subcommittees is available on the Web at http://www.president.colostate.edu/alcohol_task_force. The site also includes an online feedback form where students, parents, community members and anyone concerned with student-related alcohol issues can make comments and suggestions to the main task force committee or to specific subcommittees.
