Internet Provider to Speak at Colorado State University’s College of Business Dec. 7

Colorado State University’s College of Business will host Calvin Cooke, chief executive officer of Brainstorm Industries and a leading entrepreneur in the Internet provider sector, as part of the college’s Great Entrepreneur Speaker Series. Cooke will speak at 11 a.m. Dec. 7 in Room 119 Rockwell Hall on the Colorado State campus. The event is free and open to the public.

Cooke is an entrepreneur with a firm belief in the effectiveness of a complete solution. Cooke places emphasis on corporate culture and company environment as the foundation on which world-class services and solutions are built and progressive relationships are created. In 1998, Cooke created Brainstorm Industries, a Web development company that in 2003 bought Frontier Internet and now has grown to more than 14,000 customers with more than $2.5 million in annual revenue.  

In 2003, Cooke added a division to his company called Brainstorm Networks. This division alone did more than $3 million in revenue in fiscal 2004, and revenues for 2005 are expected to exceed $10 million.

Cooke began his education at the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana where he got his degree in finance and urban planning. After gradating college, he went to work for Chemical Residential Mortgage of Seattle, a division of Chemical Bank of New York.
