Colorado State University Awarded Environmental Business Award

For its innovative efforts to promote the enhancement of the natural environment of Fort Collins, the Colorado State University Facilities Management Department was recently awarded the Fort Collins Area Chamber of Commerce 2004 Overall Environmental Business Award. This annual award is presented to businesses that make contributions and efforts to maintain the natural environment in the community.

Colorado State University has been taking steps to reduce its environmental impact for decades. University efforts were further enhanced in 2001 when the administration signed the Talloires Declaration, joining Colorado State with 274 other institutions of higher education in a global commitment to incorporate sustainability and environmental literacy into teaching, research, operations and outreach.
