COLORADO STATE’S ENVIRONMENTAL LEARNING CENTER CELEBRATES EARTH DAY WITH EARTH FEST APRIL 23 – 24

When:          

Bird Banding – April 23, 2005, 7 a.m. – 11 a.m.

Spring Volunteer Day – April 23, 2005, 10 a.m.-1 pm.

Full Moon Program – April 24, 2005, 7 p.m. – 8 p.m.

Why:      

Colorado State University’s Environmental Learning Center celebrates Earth Day during the annual Earth Fest through April 24. "Earth Fest 2005: Lessons From Nature" will include activities for youth, families and outdoor enthusiasts.

The Earth Fest events are a way for people to learn about how nature has taught and influenced humanity throughout history as well as a way to educate the public about conservation and environmental protection.

Details:      

Bird Banding with the Rocky Mountain Observatory will allow participants the unique opportunity to see features and adaptations of birds up-close, April 23, 7 a.m. – 11 a.m.

The ELC community and volunteers will get the ELC garden prepared, trails looking groomed, trees planted and weeds removed for Spring and Summer use at the Spring Volunteer Day April 23, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Earth Fest will wrap up with a program during the campfire mountain living Full Moon program April 24, 7 – 8 p.m.
