Fiddlers in the Garden Gala Benefits Colorado State Research, Garden on Remington Avenue

An evening of dinner and music will benefit the continued care and research at Colorado State University’s annual flower trial garden, located between College Avenue and Remington Street at East Lake. Fiddlers in the Garden, a black-tie optional event, will begin at 6 p.m. Aug. 6, in the garden with cocktails, hors d’oevres and entertainment from string quartets while guests tour the gardens, in full bloom, followed by dinner and a short program at 7:30 p.m. A gourmet dessert will be served at the end of the evening gala, while a strolling violinist serenades the guests.

The garden, at 1401 Remington Ave., is a popular attraction in Northern Colorado, and is home to a research project that involves more than 1,400 varieties of annual bedding plants, both in the ground and in containers.

The garden is partially funded through private donations from industry and individuals who enjoy the flower gardens; no state funds are allocated for ground operations at the annual flower trial garden. The garden is part of Colorado State’s Department of Horticulture and Landscape Architecture, which will use donations and proceeds from the gala for the endowment to maintain the garden to assure that it will continue.

Tickets for the event, which include dinner and entertainment, are $150.00.
