News Advisory/Photo Opportunity: Professor to Illustrate Solar Science for Children

WHAT: Janice Arnold from the Northern Colorado Renewable Energy Society and GE Energy and Doug Hittle, director of Solar Energy Applications Laboratory at Colorado State, will be at the Discovery Science Center showing children how to bake cookies in a solar oven and illustrating innovative uses for the power of the sun.

WHEN/WHERE: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 18 at the Discovery Science Center, 703 E. Prospect Road, in Fort Collins

DETAILS: The Discovery Science Center is a non-profit, hands-on science and technology center intended to make learning fun for the entire family. Colorado State professors are featured regularly at the center.

COST: The event is included with admission to the Discovery Science Center. Ticket prices:

– Adults (13-59 yrs):  $6.50 per person

– Children (3-12 yrs):  $4.50 per person

– Seniors (60+):  $5.00 per person

– Free for children under 3 years old

– Free for members

Reporters and photographers are welcome to attend the event for free.
