Annual Fall Address Celebrates Colorado State University Accomplishments

Colorado State University President Larry Edward Penley will give his annual Fall Address at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 8 at the university’s historic Oval. The event will provide members of the Fort Collins and Colorado State communities the opportunity to hear Penley share university accomplishments of the past year, the status of the university’s strategic planning process and current challenges facing the institution.

Faculty, staff, students, alumni, retirees and friends of the university community are invited to gather at the Oval at 11:15 a.m. with the Colorado State Marching Band. Penley will begin his comments at 11:30 from the south end of the Oval.

The annual event provides the university and community with an opportunity to celebrate the last year’s accomplishments and to focus on new endeavors for the year.

An all-university picnic for students, staff and faculty will follow Penley’s address and conclude at 1:30 p.m. The university community is invited to enjoy the annual picnic, which features a complimentary picnic and entertainment by the Colorado State jazz combo. CAM the Ram also will make an appearance during the celebration.

To show Ram Pride, event attendees are encouraged to wear green and gold.

University classes will not be canceled, but departments are encouraged to arrange schedules to accommodate those who wish to attend. The Oval will be closed to traffic and parking throughout the day.
