Roberta Johnston Receives Meritorious Support Service Award from Cooperative Extension’s Professional Fraternity

Roberta Johnston, accounting clerk in Colorado State University Cooperative Extension’s Boulder County office, received the Meritorious Support Service Award from Colorado State Cooperative Extension’s professional fraternity, Epsilon Sigma Phi. Johnston received the award at a ceremony on Thursday, Sept. 22, in Fort Collins.

Johnston, who has been in the Boulder County office for seven years, helps the county director develop and report the office’s budget to Colorado State and to granting agencies, manages payroll, purchases, expense reports, vendor accounts and accounts payable. She also is the primary support staff for the county director.

In addition, Johnston coordinates building issues such as purchasing new equipment and installing technology, and she oversees human resources information as well as computer training for employees.

Johnston volunteers as a judge at the Boulder County Fair and within her church, and as a master food preserver, she assists the local family and consumer Cooperative Extension agent. She also is an active volunteer for the Boy Scouts and Boulder County government activities.
