Colorado State University Equine Sciences Program Presents Â??legends of Ranching Performance Horse Sale’

Colorado State University equine sciences has slated the Legends of Ranching Performance Horse Sale, to be held in conjunction with the Rocky Mountain Horse Expo, at 5 p.m. Saturday, March 11, at the National Western Stock Show complex. The student-run sale will feature horses consigned from several of the country’s top working ranches.

Horses available through the sale will include 2-year-old fillies and 2-year-old geldings that have been started in the Colorado State University horse training class. In addition, each participating ranch may consign a trained, working ranch horse, which can be shown in a ranch horse competition prior to the sale, and one other horse of their choice.

Proceeds from the sale will benefit the equine sciences program. Students from several equine science classes, such as classes focused on preparing and managing sales, training horses and managing equine events, also will take a lead role in organizing, promoting and managing the sale.
