Governor Proclaims April 18 as Â??i Love Colorado State University Day’ Across the State

Love Colorado State University? Gov. Bill Owens has named Tuesday, April 18, as "I Love Colorado State University Day" by signing a proclamation last week.

Colorado State University fans are encouraged to wear Colorado State apparel such as the ForEverGreen shirt. People in university garb who are spotted on campus by the Student Alumni Connection Pride Patrol have the opportunity to win prizes.  

The Student Alumni Connection and the Association for Student Activity Programming will host a photo opportunity with CAM the Ram; a mini spring celebration with free popcorn, hot dogs and Pepsi products; a contest to find the Ultimate Ram Fan; and giveaways from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on the university’s Lory Student Center plaza on Tuesday.

"This day of university pride is as much for alumni as it is for students," said Marc Shkolnick, executive director of Colorado State’s Alumni Association. "I encourage you to participate by proudly wearing your green and gold on I Love Colorado State University Day. We want Ram fans everywhere to e-mail us a digital pictures of themselves, their family and other fans wearing school colors. We’d like to show that Ram Pride runs world wide."

I Love Colorado State University Day, initiated by the Student Alumni Connection, is celebrated during Celebrate Colorado State! month and Green and Gold Week. The day brings out the finest in pride for the Green and Gold in past, present and future Rams.

Association for Student Activity Programming hosts Green and Gold Week, April 17-21, a celebration featuring activities for the campus community and leading up to the Green and Gold football scrimmage. The university also hosts Celebrate Colorado State! month in April, which recognizes university and university achievements. This occasion, along with Green and Gold Week, encourages the appreciation of university, Ram pride and campus traditions.
