Media Advisory/Photo Opportunity: Lt. Gov. Jane Norton to Sign Bill Offering State Support of Proposed Underground Laboratory

Lt. Gov. Jane Norton will sign Senate Bill 229, which provides financial support to the proposed underground laboratory at the Henderson Mine in Empire, Colo., if the National Science Foundation selects the site.

DETAILS:

Colorado State University, the Colorado School of Mines, the University of Colorado and the University of Denver are among the many partners in a major scientific collaboration involving a proposed National Science Foundation Deep Underground Science and Engineering Laboratory in the Henderson Mine. The Henderson Underground Science and Engineering Project (HUSEP) collaboration, a national organization, responded to a National Science Foundation proposal for a site and conceptual design in February 2005.
