Media Advisory/Photo Opportunity: Colorado State President Penley, Sen. Allard and Mayor Hutchinson Celebrate Transit Center Opening Today

WHAT: Colorado State University and the city of Fort Collins will celebrate the sustainable partnerships that helped build the new Transit Center at Colorado State with a grand opening celebration. The ribbon-cutting event celebrates the collaborative effort of the university and the city to construct the first Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, or LEED, building on campus, reinforcing the city’s and the university’s commitment to green building practices.  

WHO: Colorado State President Larry Edward Penley will greet Fort Collins Mayor Doug Hutchinson, Sen. Wayne Allard, Fort Collins City Manager Darin Atteberry, Associated Student of Colorado State University President Jason Green and Lee Waddleton, Federal Transit Administration regional administrator, as they arrive at the Transit Center grand opening event on a Transfort bus.

WHEN: 1 p.m. Aug. 28; speakers arrive on Transfort bus; 30-minute ribbon-cutting ceremony; self-guided tours and refreshments following the ceremony.

WHERE: North end of the Colorado State University Lory Student Center.
