Colorado State University Police Department Requesting University Community Assistance

Colorado State University Police Department officials are asking for student, faculty and staff help in identifying the people responsible for recent vehicle break-ins and thefts from campus buildings.

Several vehicles across campus have been vandalized during daylight hours and thefts from campus buildings are increasing.

"While we are making great efforts to catch the person or people responsible for these, our greatest limitation is the number of ‘eyes’ the police department has," said CSUPD spokeswoman Cpl. Yvonne Paez. "In contrast, on any given day, there are approximately 25,000 sets of eyes in our Colorado State community. We are requesting the assistance of our students, staff and faculty to help us stop these crimes. We ask that everyone keep their eyes and ears open and be aware of their surroundings at all times. Working together as a community is critical for fighting crime. Please report anything that appears suspicious or out of place."

Reports can be made to the CSUPD at 970-491-6425. However, if people who believe they are witnessing a crime in progress should call 911.
