A Broomfield entrepreneur has been named the new program director of the Denver Executive MBA program in the College of Business at Colorado State University.

Dave Larsen, who recently obtained his MBA through Colorado State, has been a small business owner for more than 15 years. He developed and managed outpatient counseling programs in Texas, Arizona and Colorado. He also worked at CeDAR, (Center for Dependency, Addiction and Rehabilitation) at the University of Colorado Hospital, Anschutz Center for Advanced Medicine.

Most recently, he served as president and program director of Family Recovery Centers in Denver.

"Dave’s experience, both in business and the Executive MBA Program, will help students understand how the curriculum will allow them to learn more about business from all angles – from marketing to business development to management," said John Hoxmeier, associate dean of graduate programs and associate professor in the College of Business. "His connections with the Denver business community and his entrepreneurial expertise will help prepare MBA students for the complexities of the business world."

According to The Princeton Review, Colorado State’s MBA program is one of the best in the nation and the "best administered" in the nation based on data obtained from 237 colleges and surveys of 16,000 students.

Business Week magazine also recently ranked the college’s undergraduate business programs as one of the top in the country. The magazine surveyed 77,000 graduating seniors at 123 eligible programs on such topics as the quality of teaching and asked the schools to provide information on enrollment, test scores and starting salaries for grads. The college was listed No. 30 among all public schools listed in the Business Week rankings.

Colorado State’s MBA Program is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International. AACSB International is the premier international accrediting agency for schools and colleges of business and is considered one of higher education’s strictest accrediting bodies.
