Homecoming Weekend in Fort Collins Requires Temporary Road Closures, Restricted Parking

Participants in Homecoming and Family Weekend events on Saturday will face temporary road closures and restricted parking on and around Colorado State University.

Events include a pancake breakfast from 7-9 a.m. at the CSU Alumni Center, a 5K race/walk at the CSU Oval at 8 a.m. and the 32nd annual community parade in Old Town at 9 a.m.

As in past years, the parade will work its way south on Howes Street to Laurel Street, west to Shields Street, and south to Moby Arena where the parade will enter the CSU campus.

Some ideal parade viewing spots are on Laurel Street (between Howes and Shields streets), and near the Alumni Center (at the intersection of Laurel and Shields streets).

Access to the CSU campus will be limited beginning at 7 a.m. in preparation for the 5K. City streets along the parade route will be closed beginning at 8:30 a.m.

On-campus parking will be limited to lots on the south side of the main campus – lots 240, 505, 515 and 520 are recommended. As a community sponsor/partner for the parade, Blessed John XXIII University Center at 1201 University Ave. is making additional parking available for the events until 1 p.m.
