Media Advisory: Neuroscience Group Discusses Brain Research and Brain Function

WHAT:     The Front Range Neuroscience Group will present recent developments in brain research at its annual meeting, sponsored by Colorado State University, University of Colorado, University of Denver and the University of Wyoming. Topics include a how a newly discovered selective androgen receptor modulator may impact behavior, providing profound implications for the use of these receptors in treating some neurological disorders.

DETAILS:     Students and fellows from around the region will present award-winning research including how stress impacts brain activity in adults; how a growth factor supports cell survival in developing brain cells; and how a newly discovered selective androgen receptor modulator may impact social behavior, providing profound implications for the use of these receptors in treating some neurological disorders. A keynote address by Emory University expert Larry Young about how social bonding is influenced by specific genetic factors is also on the agenda.
