Reserve Seats Now for Spotlight on Csu: Clean Energy

Make your reservation now for this year’s first Spotlight on CSU luncheon: "Power of Green: Sustainability and Alternative Energy." The program, 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. March 13 at the Hilton Fort Collins, will focus on clean energy initiatives at Colorado State University and beyond.

Spotlight on CSU is a luncheon series presented by the CSU Alumni Association that highlights the latest innovations and programs of Colorado State University faculty, students and alumni while fostering a social atmosphere where professional relationships and partnerships are built.

Speakers at the luncheon on March 13 will include:

– Carl Hammerdorfer, director of CSU’s Global Social and Sustainable Enterprise Masters’ in Sustainable Business Administration Program, who will be presenting on CSU’s unique business program designed to build enterprises that address environmental, health, and social problems in developing countries.

– Henry Liu, president of Freight Pipeline Company, who earned a doctorate in civil engineering from CSU specializing in fluid mechanics and is the founder and president of The Green Brick Company. Liu will discuss fly ash brick, the nation’s "Greenest Brick."

– Russ Kanjorski, strategic planning director for AVA Solar. Kanjorski will be presenting the solar-panel technology developed and patented by CSU mechanical engineering Professor W.S. Sampath. Three CSU staff founded AVA Solar with the goal of bringing their technology to market by the end of 2009. Sampath’s ultimate goal is to provide a low-cost solar solution that could make a meaningful impact on the world’s energy situation.  

The Spotlight on CSU luncheon will have 30 minutes of networking time with the presentation and lunch beginning at noon. The program will conclude at 1 p.m.
