The award recognizes exceptional sales and marketing educators for their long-term contributions to the quality and advancement of sales and sales management education. "I argue that there is no one individual in the field of marketing with a reputation for higher integrity, humility and fairness than Tom Ingram," said Ajay Menon, dean of the College of Business. "Despite his many accomplishments, Tom always finds time to help and guide people early in their careers."

A professor and an author of many sales and marketing textbooks, Ingram has mentored College of Business students about the profession since 1995. His contributions have been recognized by the Mu Kappa Tau National Marketing Honor Society, and in 1990, he was named Marketing Educator of the Year by the Sales and Marketing Executives International.
