Colorado’s Pine Beetle Epidemic is Focus of Â??spotlight on Csu’ Luncheon June 5

Bob Sturtevant, Extension forestry specialist for the Colorado State Forest Service, will be speaking about the mountain pine beetle epidemic that is killing millions of trees each year in Colorado. The talk will be part of a Spotlight on CSU luncheon from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. June 5 at the Hilton Hotel in Fort Collins.

Sturtevant will address how this native insect has become such a problem, why it is such an effective killer of pines and the future of the state’s forests. The luncheon will also feature a networking session from 11:30 a.m.-noon.

Spotlight on CSU highlights the latest Colorado State University innovations and programs in a social atmosphere where profession relationships and partnerships are developed.
