Colorado State Brings Educational Opportunities to Local Neighborhood May 30

The Educational Opportunity Center, a part of the Center for Educational Access and Outreach at Colorado State University, is hosting an open house at the Romero House to bring several educational organizations together at one event. The event will run from 4:30-7:30 p.m. on May 30 at the Romero House, 425 10th Street in Fort Collins.

Featuring free food, fun, music and games, the event will celebrate educational opportunities within the Fort Collins community for the entire family. The event is free and open to the public.

A variety of educational and community organizations will be present including Colorado State University, Front Range Community College, AIMS Community College, Education and Life Training Center, Community Organizing to Reach Empowerment, The Family Center/La Familia and the Northside Aztlan Community Center.

Dan Lucero, executive director of the Colorado Association for Career and Technical Education, will be the keynote speaker.

The Colorado Association for Career and Technical Education organization is the state organization supporting career and technical educators in their efforts to prepare students for career and life success.

The Center for Educational Access and Outreach seeks to make education accessible to all persons and groups by developing the talents of ethnically diverse, first generation or limited income individuals from ages 11 to adulthood.
