Colorado State University Fall Reading Series Features Poet Alice Notley Nov. 5

Colorado State University’s 2008 Fall Reading Series will feature poet Alice Notley from 7:30-9 p.m. Nov. 5 in Room F101 Visual Arts Building on campus. The poetry reading is free and open to the public. A book signing and reception will follow.

Notley’s poetry collection include "Grave of Light: New and Selected Poems 1970-2005," which was awarded the 2007 Lenore Marshall Poetry Prize from the Academy of American Poets for the best book of the year, and "Disobedience," winner of the 2002 International Griffin Poetry Prize. Also among her popular collections are "Mysteries of Small Houses," "The Descent of Alette," "Close to Me & Closer. . . The Language of Heaven" and "Dsamre."

Early works of Notley’s include "To Say You,"  "Selected Poems of Alice Notley," "The Scarlet Cabinet," "Homer’s Art," "At Night the States," "Parts of a Wedding," "Margaret and Dusty" and "Sorrento."

The Reading Series is sponsored by CSU’s English Department, the Creative Writing Program at CSU, the Organization of Graduate Student Writers, the Armstrong Hotel, Fort Collins Food Cooperative, KUNC radio and KRFC 88.9 FM Homegrown Radio.
