Top Microsoft Strategist to Speak at Colorado State University on Monday, April 13

One of the nation’s top computing strategists – Dan Reed at Microsoft Corp. – will speak at Colorado State University in Fort Collins on Monday, April 13.

Colorado State University’s Information Science and Technology Center will present two lectures by Reed, Microsoft Scalable and Multicore Computing Strategist. Reed will present "ManyCore, Clouds, Research and the Future," in the Lory Student Center Grey Rock Room from 10-11 a.m. followed by a talk on "The Computing Revolution."

Reed will talk about where technology is going, how to optimize power, performance and reliability as well as what a decade of technology advances may bring in communications and collaboration, sensors and knowledge management, modeling and discovery, electronic commerce and digital entertainment, critical infrastructure management and security.

Reed is Microsoft’s Scalable and Multicore Computing Strategist, responsible for re-envisioning the data center of the future and coordinating Microsoft’s external multicore research program. He was a member of former President Bush’s Council of Advisory on Science and Technology and a former member of the President’s Information Technology Advisory Committee.
