Colorado State University Welcomes Fans, Friends to Celebrate CSU v. CU Rivalry Sept. 4-6

Colorado State University invites CSU Ram fans, alumni and friends to attend several events in Denver, Fort Collins and Boulder Sept. 4-6 in preparation for the annual CSU v. CU football rivalry, taking place this year on Sept. 6 at Folsom Field in Boulder. The 2009 Colorado State University Rams and University of Colorado Buffaloes Showdown will mark the 81st meeting of the rival schools. This year’s game has changed venues, but CSU’s related events will continue to focus on celebrating Green and Gold pride.

Following is a list of CSU events for the weekend:

Friday, September 4

Rams on the Mall
11 a.m. -2 p.m.
Skyline Park in downtown Denver
West side of the 16th Street Mall
The CSU Spirit Squad and CAM the Ram will join Colorado State fans.
Music, a football toss and giveaways will help fans celebrate what it is to be a CSU Ram. The university will also display some of its green research and programs, including a cookstove from startup Envirofit International, solar panel from startup Abound Solar and a dress made from recyclable materials.
The event is free and open to the public.

Grill the Buffs Student Rally
11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Lory Student Center Plaza, CSU Fort Collins campus
Join CAM the Ram, the Spirit Squad and marching band to cheer on the CSU football team. Coaches and players will make a guest appearance during event. The event is free and open to the public.

Ram Rally at Lodo’s
5:30- 7 p.m.
Lodo’s Bar and Grill in Denver
1946 Market St.
Jerry Schemmel, the new voice of the Rams, will join CSU fans and friends to celebrate the 81st meeting of the Colorado State Rams and the Colorado Buffalos. Appearances by: Tony Frank, president of Colorado State University ; Paul Kowalczyk, Colorado State University director of athletics; and Joe Blake, Colorado State University System chancellor. Drink specials, a free nacho bar, and a Rams inspired drink will be available to attendees. Please use south side entrance. The event is open to the public.

College Colors Day
CSU supporters are encouraged to wear their Green and Gold to work to show their Ram Pride. College Colors Day is an annual celebration dedicated to promoting the traditions and spirit that make the college experience great by encouraging people across America to wear apparel of their favorite college or university throughout the day.

Sunday, September 6

Official CSU Tailgate
2 – 4 p.m.
Boulder Marriott
2660 Canyon Blvd., Boulder
CSU fans along with the CSU Spirit Squad, CAM the Ram and the CSU marching band will tailgate together before the game. Live music provided by The Commoners. Paul Kowalczyk, director of Athletics, will get the crowd fired up. The event includes a full buffet dinner and free parking for the first 100 cars. Tickets are available for $25 for Alumni Association members, $33 for non-members and $15 for children under 12. Hometown Huddle Watch Parties
The CSU Alumni Association will host watch parties at the following Denver-area locations. Food and drink specials along and giveaways will be at all venues. Attendees are encouraged to wear green and gold. Whiskey Bar’s viewing will focus on young alumni.
