CSU Veterinary Behavior Club Offers One-Day Seminar to Help Improve Pet’s Behavior

The Colorado State University Veterinary student Animal Behavior Club is hosting a one-day seminar for pet lovers, veterinary students, and veterinary staff in the community. “Ain’t Misbehavin’ – Creating the (Almost) Impeccable Pet” will be from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 6, at the Colorado State University Veterinary Teaching Hospital, 300 W. Drake Road.

Experts will present four lecturers in the field of animal behavior including “Help for Your Fearful Animal,” “Starting off on the Right Paw,” “The Dangers of Dominance” and “Litter Box Blues.” The club will provide lunch and door prizes, and have training and enrichment products for sale.

The CSU Animal Behavior Club is a student chapter of the American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior. The club offers behavior and training information for a variety of species including dogs, cats, horses, small ruminants, wildlife, pet birds and small mammals. Through community speaking engagements, information on the club website, and the sale of training supplies and books, the Behavior Club also provides the community with opportunities to learn about the behavior of their pets. Problem behavior in pets is a leading cause of relinquishment of animals to shelters

“Ain’t Misbehavin’ – Creating the (Almost) Impeccable Pet” is free, though donations to the Behavior Club are appreciated. Donations are used to help educate future veterinarians about the behavior of their patients through lectures and hands-on experiences. Pre-registration via the club’s website is suggested.
