Celebrate All Things Cars with a Community Car Show Sponsored by the College of Engineering, April 17

Fort Collins show car owners will have the opportunity to show off their prized possessions at the second annual Colorado State University Community Car Show on the Fort Collins campus on Saturday, April 17.

The show will bring together CSU, the College of Engineering and the Fort Collins community to celebrate all things cars. The event, which is free and open to the public, is scheduled from 11:00 a.m. – 3 p.m. April 17 in Newsom Parking Lot 240.

“The College of Engineering collaborates with every other college across campus on a daily basis through different projects,” said Katie Marshall, the president of the Engineering College Council. “Engineering truly is a ‘team sport’ and without the participation from all of these other groups across CSU and Fort Collins, the College of Engineering would not be able to accomplish the amazing things it does.”

The community car show will culminate the annual CSU Engineering Days. This week-long celebration of the science of engineering features such events as the E-Lympics and the showcasing and judging of all student Senior Design projects.

The car show is sponsored by the Engineering College Council and Encana Energy, one of the nation’s largest natural gas companies.

About $800 in prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers decided by public choice judging.

Registration for the car show is free. To register for the event, visit http://www.engr.colostate.edu/ecc/flatpress/index.php. For more information on E-days, visit http://www.engr.colostate.edu/students/future-students/undergraduate/E_Days.html .
