Tours of Solar Plant, Green Buildings Offered to Campus Community During Earth Week on Tuesday, April 20

As part of Earth Week activities, Colorado State University on Tuesday, April 20, will offer tours of the solar plant and newer buildings on campus that have been constructed with environmentally friendly materials and practices.

Reservations are required for the tour because space is limited. A university bus will take visitors to the solar facility; no other vehicles will be allowed on the site. Sign up for the tour by emailing Stacy Grant at Stacy.Grant@colostate.edu no later than Monday, April 19.

The tour will begin at 10:50 a.m. at the Indoor Practice Facility and end with the bus leaving for the solar plant at the Foothills Campus promptly at 1:15 p.m.

10:50am-1:15pm Tour Part 1

10:50 a.m.: Arrive at Indoor Practice Facility

11:00-11:20 a.m.: Tour with Doug Max, associate athletic director

11:20-11:25 a.m.: Walk to Student Recreation Center

11:25-11:45 a.m.: Tour of Student Recreation Center with Dave Frock, operations director

11:45 a.m. – Noon: Walk to Academic Village, RamsHorn Dining Hall

12:00-12:45 p.m.: Lunch and Brief Presentations at RamsHorn Horsetooth Room

  • 12:20-12:30: Deon Lategan, director, Residential Dining Services
  • 12:30-12:35: Chris Anderson, student director, SoGES Student Sustainability Center.
