The Colorado State University System Board of Governors, including student and faculty board representatives, met this morning in a special public meeting prior to its regularly scheduled committee meetings to receive a recommendation from the search committee chair for the president of CSU-Global Campus.

John Ikard, chair of the CSU-Global Campus presidential search committee and board member recommended to the board Becky Takeda-Tinker, current Dean of Academics Affairs at CSU-Global, as a sole finalist for the position of CSU-Global president. The recommendation was further supported by CSU System chancellor Joe Blake, who also served on the search committee.

“A strong indication of what is happening in the online university market is the number of quality applicants we received for this position. However, Dr. Takeda-Tinker’s experience made her stand out above the rest and earned the committee’s unanimous endorsement,” said Ikard.

“This is an opportunity of a lifetime. I am excited to carry forward the board’s foresight to create Global Campus, and its platform of affordable, convenient, accessible and high quality degree programs to enable more nontraditional students to earn a degree,” said Takeda-Tinker.

The board voted unanimously to accept the committee’s recommendation. The appointment will be effective after a 14-day public notice period as stipulated in state statute.
